Located in an upscale urban neighborhood with traditionally styled houses, this house was designed based on photographs that the client had taken of an old historic home located in a rural area of the county in which the client resided. The exterior brick was painted to set the house apart from the typical red brick homes in the neighborhood. The new house "blends in" with the neighborhood in terms of size, scale and traditionally architectural elements while, at the same time, "standing out" on it's own to create a visual impact in the neighborhood in which it was built.
